If Your Trees Had Lips – Dallas Tree Doctor Advice
Why is it that those closest to us get the least attention? It’s not just familiarity, it’s also a function of honest ignorance. We love our Dallas trees but they just don’t fill us in on what they want. The only way they can get our attention is when their limbs fall off or they simply fall over. That’s a little too dramatic, don’t you think?Wouldn’t it be great if your trees had lips? Here is advice from Dallas’ own Tree Doctor, Jim Chase.
As Dallas’ Tree Doctor, I’ve learned five requests trees would make if they could talk:- “I’ll have another.”
- 12 gallons of water per inch of trunk diameter each week.
- After a tree hug, measure the diameter at chest height.
- “Feed me Seymour.”
- Dallas Trees need fertilizer but they’re picky eaters.
- Nitrogen, phosphorous, potassium, iron and zinc are on the buffet.
- “Mr. DeMille, I’m ready for my close up.”
- Carefully look at all parts of your trees (leaves, branches, trunk and bark).
- If something doesn’t look right, call a pro (hint – hint).
- “Just a little off the top and sides.”
- Before you trim trees, research. One mistake can kill your tree.
- “When in doubt, don’t.”
- Professional Dallas arborists are tree surgeons. You wouldn’t let a mechanic take out your appendix would you?
- A tree’s value can be $25,000 to $50,000. Protect your Dallas trees like an asset. Like any Dallas tree specialist, they’d hug you back… if they could.
